Pollution prevention & greening

AARCHER and its staff have provided pollution prevention consulting and planning services for governmental and private clients for more than 10 years. We support the implementation of practical and proven waste minimization and pollution prevention strategies that promote sustainable operations.

We have completed more than 20 pollution prevention opportunity assessments (PPOAs), prepared comprehensive pollution prevention plans for Federal facilities and large installations, performed recurring private facility pollution prevention voluntary inspections, established environmental performance baselines and metrics for more than a 100 wastestreams, and identified more than 2,000 opportunities for our clients to achieve regulatory compliance through pollution prevention.

We are actively supporting our Federal clients’ efforts to implement Executive Order 13423, “Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management,” by performing “Greening” reviews independently and as part of our compliance auditing work.

Our staff has gained experience in helping to advance the national energy security and environmental performance goals, including evaluating alternative fuel vehicle use, petroleum conservation measures, energy efficiency, generation of greenhouse gases, use of renewable power, building construction standards, water conservation, procurement of environmentally-sound goods and services, and electronics management practices.

Our work in supporting greening and pollution prevention is integrated with our environmental compliance facility auditing services and Environmental Management Systems (EMSs) implementation success.
